MY EXPERIENCE
Background & Expertise
As an IT professional, I've had the opportunity to hold a variety of roles in many different companies throughout the years. Started restless as a young programmer coding video games and later business applications, worked at government companies mostly on budget and accounting areas, but also in HR, yet I became an expert in budgets. Later on I worked on roster, insurance, price listings, invoicing, datawarehouse and risk assessment besides my work as DBA. Take a look below to learn more about my background and experience.

November 2020 - October 2023
DevOps for GoldenGate Service (GGS) and Data Migration Service (DMS) in the Oracle cloud, setting up and giving support to the new service where you can get a GoldenGate deployment with a click, connect it to your Oracle databases wether on the cloud or on premises and start replicating data between them. Working with the team to improve the service overall using shell and Python scripting, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes and Oracle tools. DevOps for ADBA team, automating tasks and participating on daily tasks. Saved hundreds of DBA hours automating daily tasks and made complex tasks easier with scripts and menus in shell script.
Achievement: Received employee of the month in Dec 2018 for the work on automation's done for ADBA team.
Oracle Developer, TCS
Mar 2015 - Mar 2017
Coding on PL/SQL and Actimize also doing analysis and documentation for Bank of America. Later as Oracle DBA for The Northern Trust Company.
Achievement: Received employee of the month award on Jan 2017 for the automation of the db refresh process, saving thousands of dollars yearly.
DBA, AON
Oct 2014 - Mar 2015
Production support, patch installation, code release, creation of new instances and performance tuning for SQL Server and Oracle.
Achievement: Migrated successfully more than 200 SQL Server and some Oracle instances to Rackspace cloud using scripts.
Oracle Operations DBA, Bank of America
Apr 2011 - Sep 2014
Production support to a variety of Oracle instances including RAC, Exadata and support to technologies like Golden Gate and Dataguard. Code release, performance tuning.
Achievement: Reduced the amount of tickets from around 3000 to less than 50 daily tickets in two years, was a team effort.
DBA, Santander Bank
Sep 2010 - Mar 2011
Production support, patch installation, code release, creation of new instances and performance tunning for on SQL Server, Oracle and DB2.
Achievement: Successfully launched a project from zero to production in one month for Uruguay division of the Bank.
Oracle DBA, Sinergy Solutions
May 2009 - Aug 2010
Administration of Oracle and MySQL instances standalone and RAC. Requirement gathering, production support, code development.
Achievement: Stabilized an Oracle RAC for Elektra Bank and created new instance fixing damaged binaries in the process.
DBA/App and Server Administrator, Grupo BAFAR
Feb 2008 - Feb 2009
Informix, Sybase and SQL Server DBA. Administration of Solaris, Windows and Linux servers. System Administration, of Baan, SQL Server and cubes and biometric databases.
Achievement: No big issues raised during the migracion from BAAN to SAP, in db from Informix to Oracle.

Bachelor in Administrative Informatics, got prepared in finance and account subjects as well as management. Also got the basics of programming, laws and design.

Technical preparation in digital electronic, obtained both diploma and certificate, learned the basics of the digital world and also loved math and physics, at the time wanted to become a physicist, but fell in love with coding and the new digital world.

September 1981 - July 1984
Special school with weird curricula at the time, had 15 subjects per year. Studied subjects like 'parapsychology'. Since it is a technical school had electronics workshop as a subject. Got diploma as assistant technician in electronics.

DBA and Developer
PL/SQL developer, DBA, hands on experience with Dataguard, RAC, Exadata, Golden Gate, Streams, Partitioning, Tuning, Design, Cloud and more.
PROGRAMMER
Lots of experience from C,C++, Java, .NET, Pascal, Delphi, Shell Scripting, Perl, Power Builder, Python, Terraform, etc.
Started making games for c64, c128 and Amiga machines, did not like basic language limitations so learned machine language. After that jumped to Clipper, dBase and then C, C++, Delphi. Had so much experience learning and love to code that a new language is like candy to me, can't get enough! Automating with scripting, now using Bash Script, Python and Terraform among other new cloud tools for my current job.
JAVASCRIPT
Master
Began toying with ecmascript in the late 90's, then making my own API's in early 2000, now with the plethora of options love to test and get the most of any new technology! JQuery, React, etc.

Many times designer for data models for relational databases, had to be a DBA and still loving to abstract concepts and reflect them on a database model, with enough experience to take in account easy of use and performance.
